Description

These Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bars are thick, soft, and packed with cozy fall flavor. Made with real pumpkin puree, warm spices, and melty chocolate chips, this easy pumpkin dessert bar recipe is perfect for holiday baking, snacks, or brunch. Moist, quick to make, and freezer-friendly!


Ingredients

1 cup pumpkin puree

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup melted butter

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup chocolate chips


Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and melted butter until smooth.

3. Add egg and vanilla extract and stir until well combined.

4. Sprinkle in flour, baking soda, pumpkin pie spice, and salt. Gently fold until just combined.

5. Fold in chocolate chips, saving a few to sprinkle on top.

6. Spread batter evenly in the pan and top with remaining chocolate chips.

7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.

8. Let cool completely in the pan before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use canned pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling.

Don’t overmix the batter to keep the bars soft and tender.

These bars taste even better the next day after flavors deepen.
