Description
Popcorn Cake is a fun and easy no bake dessert made with popped popcorn, marshmallows, butter, and candy-coated chocolates for a sweet, chewy, crunchy treat that is perfect for birthdays, parties, movie nights, and holiday dessert tables.
Ingredients
10 cups popped popcorn
10 ounces mini marshmallows
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup candy-coated chocolates
1/2 cup pastel sprinkles
nonstick spray for the pan
Instructions
1. Grease a bundt pan or tube pan well with nonstick spray and set it aside.
2. Place the popped popcorn in a very large bowl and remove any unpopped kernels.
3. Add the candy-coated chocolates and most of the sprinkles to the popcorn, saving a little for the top if desired.
4. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter completely.
5. Add the mini marshmallows and stir until fully melted and smooth.
6. Stir in the salt and vanilla extract.
7. Pour the warm marshmallow mixture over the popcorn mixture.
8. Gently fold everything together until the popcorn is evenly coated.
9. Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan and press it in gently and evenly.
10. Sprinkle the remaining sprinkles on top and lightly press them in.
11. Let the cake sit at room temperature for 30 to 45 minutes until set.
12. Invert onto a serving plate, slice, and serve.
Notes
Use freshly popped popcorn for the best texture and flavor.
Remove all unpopped kernels before mixing so every bite stays pleasant.
Press the mixture gently into the pan so the cake holds together without becoming too dense.
