Description

Holiday Seven Layer Bars are a rich, gooey holiday dessert bar made with graham cracker crumbs, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, coconut, and chopped nuts. These easy seven layer bars are perfect for Christmas cookie trays, holiday dessert platters, bake sales, and make ahead treats when you want a simple bar recipe that tastes festive and comforting.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

1 cup butterscotch chips

1 1/3 cups sweetened shredded coconut

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1/4 teaspoon flaky sea salt, optional

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. In a mixing bowl, stir the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter together until evenly combined.

3. Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust.

4. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crust.

5. Sprinkle the semi sweet chocolate chips and butterscotch chips over the condensed milk layer.

6. Add the shredded coconut, chopped pecans, and chopped walnuts evenly over the top.

7. Gently press the topping down lightly with the back of a spoon or your hands.

8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the top is lightly golden and the edges are set.

9. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

10. For cleaner cuts, chill the bars briefly before serving.

Notes

These bars slice best after they have cooled completely, so resist cutting too early.

For a more festive look, add a few red and green baking chips on top before baking.

Store the bars in a sealed container and separate layers with parchment paper to keep them neat.
