Description

Delicious Sausage Gravy Crescent Roll Breakfast Pizza is a hearty breakfast pizza made with flaky crescent roll dough, creamy sausage gravy, fluffy eggs, and melted cheese for an easy brunch recipe everyone will love.

Ingredients

1 lb breakfast sausage

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

2 cups milk

1 tube refrigerated crescent roll dough

6 large eggs

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 tbsp butter or cooking spray

2 tbsp sliced green onions

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or sheet pan.

2. Cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles until browned and fully cooked.

3. Sprinkle the flour over the sausage and stir well, then slowly pour in the milk while stirring until a thick sausage gravy forms. Season with black pepper.

4. Unroll the crescent roll dough into the prepared pan and pinch the seams together to form one even crust.

5. Bake the crust for 5 minutes to give it a head start, then remove it from the oven.

6. Spread the sausage gravy evenly over the partially baked crescent crust.

7. Whisk the eggs with salt, then scramble them in a skillet over medium-low heat just until softly set.

8. Spoon the scrambled eggs over the gravy layer.

9. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.

10. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust is golden brown.

11. Rest for 5 minutes, then top with sliced green onions, cut into squares, and serve warm.

Notes

Use only a moderate layer of gravy so the crust stays baked through and not soggy.

Soft-scramble the eggs because they finish cooking in the oven.

For the best leftover texture, reheat slices in the oven or air fryer instead of the microwave.
