Description

Chocolate Bliss Pie is a rich and creamy chocolate pie with a buttery chocolate cookie crust, silky chocolate filling, and a smooth whipped topping finish. This easy chocolate dessert recipe is perfect for holidays, parties, and make ahead entertaining, giving you a decadent homemade pie that chocolate lovers will want again and again.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs

6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 1/2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

1 cup heavy cream

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

3/4 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

1 1/2 cups whipped topping or homemade whipped cream

2 tablespoons chocolate shavings or curls

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and stir the chocolate cookie crumbs with melted butter until evenly coated. Press the mixture into a 9 inch pie dish and bake for 8 minutes. Let the crust cool completely.

2. Add the semi sweet chocolate chips and heavy cream to a heat safe bowl. Warm in short intervals, stirring often, until smooth and glossy. Let it cool slightly.

3. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and cocoa powder, then mix until creamy.

4. Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the cream cheese mixture and beat until the filling is thick, silky, and fully combined.

5. Spoon the filling into the cooled crust and smooth the top with a spatula. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.

6. Before serving, top with whipped topping or homemade whipped cream and finish with chocolate shavings or curls. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

A chocolate cookie crust gives this pie the richest flavor, but a graham cracker crust also works well.

Homemade whipped cream gives the topping a fresher taste if you want a more from scratch finish.

This pie can be made a day ahead, which makes it perfect for holidays and gatherings.
