Ingredients
3 cups shredded cooked chicken
1 bag frozen tater tots, about 32 ounces
1/2 cup buffalo sauce
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup ranch dressing
1 cup sour cream
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
2 sliced green onions, divided
4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled, optional
1/3 cup blue cheese crumbles, optional
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, softened cream cheese, ranch dressing, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, 1 cup of cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and most of the sliced green onions. Stir until creamy and fully combined.
3. Spread the buffalo chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
4. Arrange the frozen tater tots in an even layer over the top of the casserole.
5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until the filling is bubbling and the tater tots are golden and crisp.
6. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup cheddar cheese over the top during the last 5 minutes of baking and return the dish to the oven until melted.
7. Remove from the oven and let the casserole rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
8. Top with the remaining green onions, bacon, and blue cheese crumbles if using, then serve hot.
Notes
Use rotisserie chicken to make prep even faster on busy nights.
For a milder casserole, reduce the buffalo sauce slightly and add a little extra ranch.
Reheat leftovers in the oven or air fryer for the best crispy tater tot texture.
