Description
Authentic guacamole is a fresh, creamy avocado dip made with ripe avocados, lime juice, onion, tomato, cilantro, and jalapeño for a classic homemade guacamole recipe that is perfect for tacos, chips, nachos, and easy party appetizers.
Ingredients
3 ripe avocados
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1/4 cup finely chopped white onion
1 small Roma tomato, seeded and diced
1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
1 small jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
2. Add the fresh lime juice and mash the avocados with a fork until mostly smooth with a few chunks left for texture.
3. Stir in the chopped white onion, diced Roma tomato, chopped cilantro, jalapeño, and salt.
4. Fold everything together gently until well combined.
5. Taste and adjust with a little more salt or lime juice if needed.
6. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, tacos, nachos, or your favorite Mexican dishes.
Notes
Use ripe avocados that give slightly when pressed for the creamiest texture and best flavor.
Seed the tomato before dicing so the guacamole stays thick instead of watery.
Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface if storing leftovers to help reduce browning.
