Ingredients

2 pounds ground beef

1 can (29 oz) tomato sauce

1 can (29 oz) kidney beans, drained

1 can (29 oz) pinto beans, drained

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies

1 can (14.5 oz) stewed tomatoes

1 cup chopped onion

1/2 cup chopped celery

1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper

1/2 cup chopped yellow bell pepper

1/4 cup chili powder

1 tbsp ground cumin

1 1/2 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp oregano

1 tbsp white vinegar

1 tbsp sugar

1 cup water


Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onion, celery, and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and oregano. Mix well to coat the meat and veggies.
  4. Pour in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, stewed tomatoes, kidney beans, and pinto beans. Stir to combine.
  5. Add white vinegar, sugar, and water. Mix thoroughly.
  6. Bring the mixture to a light boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 1 to 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite toppings like sour cream, shredded cheese, or green onions.
