Description

This Samoas Puppy Chow recipe is a no-bake dessert snack packed with rich chocolate, gooey caramel, and toasted coconut. Inspired by the classic Girl Scout cookie, it’s an easy, indulgent treat for parties, holidays, or cozy nights in. Gluten-free and kid-friendly, it’s the perfect sweet snack mix.

Ingredients

6 cups Rice Chex cereal

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup caramel bits or soft caramels

2 tablespoons heavy cream

1 cup toasted coconut flakes

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 pinch salt

Instructions

1. Toast the coconut flakes in a 325°F oven for 5 to 8 minutes until golden, stirring halfway through.

2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, caramel bits, and heavy cream. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract and salt.

3. Place Rice Chex cereal in a large bowl. Pour in the melted chocolate-caramel mixture and gently stir to coat.

4. Transfer the coated cereal into a large zip-top bag. Add powdered sugar and most of the toasted coconut, seal, and shake to coat.

5. Spread the mix onto a baking sheet to cool completely. Sprinkle with the remaining coconut before serving.

Notes

Make sure your coconut is fully cooled before mixing for optimal texture.

Use high-quality chocolate for the richest flavor.

Microwave the caramel and chocolate slowly to avoid scorching.
