Description

This Best Cheese Dip recipe is creamy, cheesy, and perfect for parties or game days. Made with cheddar, Monterey Jack, and cream cheese, this homemade dip is easy, quick, and great with chips, pretzels, or veggies. It’s a must-have appetizer for every gathering!


Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk

8 ounces cream cheese

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies

1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste


Instructions

1. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the garlic powder and let it warm through for about 30 seconds.

2. Whisk in the evaporated milk and bring to a gentle simmer. Add the cream cheese and stir until fully melted and smooth.

3. Reduce heat to low and slowly add the shredded cheeses, stirring constantly until everything is melted and creamy.

4. Fold in the diced green chilies and stir well. Taste and adjust the salt if needed.

5. Serve warm immediately or transfer to a slow cooker on low to keep warm while serving.

Notes

Use block cheese and shred it yourself for the smoothest melt.

You can add diced jalapeños or chorizo for extra flavor.

Reheat leftovers gently over low heat and stir until smooth again.
