Description
Texas Trash Pie is a gooey, salty-sweet dessert packed with chocolate chips, pretzels, coconut, and more in a buttery crust. Perfect for potlucks or indulgent treats, this pie recipe is a creative twist on pantry staples.
Ingredients
1 9-inch deep-dish pie crust
1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 ounces)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup crushed pretzels
1 cup shredded sweetened coconut
1 cup toffee bits
1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Prepare the pie crust in a deep-dish pie pan. Blind bake it for 8 minutes to prevent sogginess.
3. In a large bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, crushed pretzels, coconut, toffee bits, and chopped pecans. Mix well.
4. Pour the filling into the pre-baked crust and gently spread it evenly.
5. Bake the pie for 30–35 minutes or until golden on top and set in the center.
6. Let the pie cool completely before slicing to help it firm up.
7. Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally topped with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
This pie is highly customizable—add peanut butter chips or candy bar chunks for a fun twist.
Letting the pie cool fully before slicing ensures neat, firm slices.
Reheat slices briefly in the microwave for that just-baked texture and warmth.
