Description
This Texas Chocolate Pecan Pie recipe combines the richness of dark chocolate with crunchy pecans in a gooey, buttery filling all nestled inside a flaky crust. Perfect for the holidays or anytime you want a crowd-pleasing dessert, this Southern classic delivers comfort and indulgence in every slice.
Ingredients
3 large eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup dark corn syrup
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups pecan halves
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
Instructions
1. Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie plate, trimming and crimping the edges. Refrigerate until needed.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, dark corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
3. Stir in dark chocolate chips and pecan halves until evenly mixed.
4. Pour the filling into the chilled pie crust. Bake at 350°F for 50–60 minutes or until the center is set but still jiggles slightly.
5. Cool the pie completely on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
Use dark chocolate for a richer flavor that balances sweetness.
Tent the pie with foil if the crust browns too quickly while baking.
Let the pie cool completely for clean slicing and ideal texture.
