Description

This Southern Style Goulash recipe is a comforting one-pot meal featuring ground beef, elbow macaroni, and a savory tomato sauce. Easy, hearty, and perfect for weeknight dinners, this Southern goulash brings bold flavor with minimal effort. A true family favorite!

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups tomato sauce

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked

2 cups beef broth

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Heat a large pot over medium heat and brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.

2. Add diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion becomes translucent.

3. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes with juices, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.

4. Add elbow macaroni. Stir, reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 15 minutes until pasta is tender.

5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let rest a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Use lean ground beef to reduce grease.

Stir the goulash occasionally while simmering to prevent sticking.

Top with shredded cheddar or hot sauce for added flavor.
