Ingredients

2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

¾ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

½ cup sour cream

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

½ cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)

2 ½ cups powdered sugar (for frosting)

2 tablespoons milk or cream (for frosting)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)

few drops food coloring, optional

sprinkles, optional


Instructions

1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

2. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.

3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add sour cream and vanilla extract.

4. Slowly mix in dry ingredients until dough forms.

5. Scoop dough into balls and place on parchment-lined baking sheet.

6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until edges are just set.

7. Cool cookies completely before frosting.

8. For the frosting, beat butter until creamy, then add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.

9. Add food coloring if desired and mix until fluffy.

10. Frost cooled cookies and decorate with sprinkles if using.
