Description

Soft and Fluffy Milk Bread is the ultimate homemade loaf with a light, airy crumb and subtle sweetness. Perfect for sandwiches, toast, or sweet spreads, this easy milk bread recipe uses bread flour, butter, and whole milk for that classic pillowy texture. Ideal for breakfast or a cozy snack.

Ingredients

240 ml whole milk

2 tablespoons sugar

2 teaspoons instant yeast

1 large egg

360 g bread flour

1 teaspoon salt

45 g unsalted butter, softened

1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

1. Warm the milk until lukewarm and stir in the sugar and yeast. Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes until slightly foamy.

2. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, beaten egg, and butter. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.

3. Knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled.

5. Punch down the dough and divide into 3 or 4 pieces. Roll each into logs and place into a greased loaf pan.

6. Cover and let rise for 30 to 45 minutes until puffy and nearly doubled.

7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush the top with egg wash.

8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.

9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Keep milk warm but not hot to avoid killing the yeast.

Use bread flour for the fluffiest result.

You can freeze this bread after cooling for longer storage.
