Ingredients
2 pounds chicken breasts
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
2 packets (0.87 oz each) chicken gravy mix
1 cup water
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup sour cream
Instructions
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, gravy mix, water, and black pepper until smooth.
2. Place chicken breasts into the bottom of the slow cooker.
3. Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken, making sure it is fully covered.
4. Cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours until the chicken is tender.
5. Remove the chicken, shred it with two forks, and return to the slow cooker.
6. Stir in the sour cream until the gravy is smooth and creamy.
7. Let it sit for a few minutes to absorb flavors before serving.
8. Serve hot over mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice, spooning extra gravy on top.
Notes
Use boneless, skinless chicken thighs if you prefer a richer flavor.
For a thinner gravy, add a bit more water or chicken broth at the end.
Freeze leftovers in single portions for easy weeknight meals.
