Description

Sloppy Joe Casserole is an easy, cheesy, and comforting dinner that transforms classic Sloppy Joe flavors into a hearty baked meal. This family favorite features ground beef, tangy sauce, cheddar cheese, and golden biscuit topping. Perfect for busy weeknights or potluck gatherings, it’s a nostalgic twist that’s both budget-friendly and freezer-ready.


Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 medium yellow onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 green bell pepper, diced

1 cup tomato sauce

1/2 cup ketchup

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 can refrigerated biscuit dough


Instructions

1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any fat.

2. Add onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Cook until vegetables are tender.

3. Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes.

4. Pour the beef mixture into a greased baking dish.

5. Sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly on top.

6. Place biscuit dough pieces on top, spacing evenly.

7. Bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes until biscuits are golden and cooked through.

Notes

Let the casserole rest 5 minutes before serving for easier slicing.

Cut biscuits into quarters for even topping coverage.
