Description

This Samoas Puppy Chow recipe combines the flavors of chocolate, caramel, and toasted coconut in a no-bake dessert snack that’s perfect for parties, gifting, or everyday indulgence. Easy to make and highly addictive, it’s a fun twist on muddy buddies with a Girl Scout cookie flair.

Ingredients

3 cups Rice Chex cereal

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup caramel bits

1 cup sweetened shredded coconut

1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

1. Toast coconut flakes in a dry skillet over medium heat, stirring often, until golden and fragrant. Set aside to cool.

2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and caramel bits. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until melted and smooth.

3. Pour the melted chocolate-caramel mixture over the Rice Chex in a large bowl. Stir gently to evenly coat.

4. Add the toasted coconut to the coated cereal and stir again to distribute.

5. Transfer the mixture to a large zip-top bag or sealed container. Add powdered sugar and shake until all pieces are coated.

6. Spread on a parchment-lined baking sheet and allow to cool completely before storing.

Notes

Always toast your coconut for the richest flavor.

Make sure the chocolate and caramel mix is fully melted and smooth for easy coating.

Use a gentle hand when mixing to avoid crushing the cereal.
