Description

These Reuben Balls with Spicy Thousand Island Dipping Sauce are the perfect party appetizer. Crispy on the outside and packed with creamy Swiss, savory corned beef, and tangy sauerkraut, they deliver bold Reuben sandwich flavor in one bite-sized snack. Ideal for game day, holidays, or any gathering.

Ingredients

1 cup diced corned beef

1 cup shredded Swiss cheese

1 cup drained sauerkraut

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs

Vegetable oil, for frying

1/2 cup mayonnaise

3 tablespoons ketchup

1 tablespoon prepared horseradish

2 tablespoons dill pickle relish

1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

1. Combine diced corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, cream cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl and mix well.

2. Roll mixture into tablespoon-sized balls and place on a tray.

3. Chill in freezer for 30 minutes to firm up.

4. Set up a dredging station with flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs.

5. Coat each chilled ball in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.

6. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry balls in batches until golden, about 2-3 minutes per side.

7. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

8. Mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish, relish, and hot sauce to make dipping sauce.

9. Serve Reuben balls hot with the spicy dipping sauce.

Notes

Use thick-sliced corned beef for best texture.

Sauerkraut should be well-drained and patted dry.

Fry in small batches to maintain oil temperature and ensure even cooking.
