This Red Lobster’s Cheese Biscuit Loaf is the ultimate comfort bread, loaded with sharp cheddar, garlic butter flavor, and baked golden in a loaf pan. A quick bread version of Cheddar Bay Biscuits, perfect for dinner sides, brunch, or snacking.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup buttermilk
1 large egg
1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a standard loaf pan or line with parchment.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt.
3. Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese, then cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk and egg.
5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and stir until just combined; do not overmix.
6. Spoon the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle with parsley if using.
7. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Slice and serve warm.
