Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
2/3 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup white chocolate chunks
1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
3. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. Stir in cream, peppermint extract, and vanilla until a shaggy dough forms.
5. Gently fold in white chocolate chunks and crushed peppermint candies.
6. Turn dough onto a floured surface, shape into a 1-inch thick disc.
7. Cut into 8 wedges and place on baking sheet.
8. Bake for 18–22 minutes or until edges are golden.
9. Cool slightly before serving. Optional: drizzle with glaze and top with more crushed peppermint.
Notes
Make sure your butter is cold for the flakiest texture.
Do not overmix the dough; this keeps the scones tender.
Use a serrated knife or bench scraper to cut clean wedges.
