Ingredients
30 dumpling wrappers
2 cups shredded cabbage
1 cup grated carrots
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
2 green onions, chopped
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons olive oil or neutral oil (for brushing)
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 tablespoon soy sauce (for sauce)
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
3 to 4 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, mix the cabbage, carrots, garlic, ginger, green onions, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Let sit for 10 minutes.
2. Place a dumpling wrapper in your hand, add a spoonful of filling, and wet the edges. Fold and seal tightly.
3. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment. Place dumplings on the sheet and brush with oil.
4. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden on both sides.
5. While baking, mix the peanut butter, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, water, and red pepper flakes in a bowl. Adjust consistency with water.
6. Serve hot dumplings with peanut sauce. Garnish with chopped peanuts or sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
Make sure dumplings are sealed tightly to prevent leaks while baking.
For best results, eat fresh from the oven or reheat in the oven to maintain crispness.
Freeze unbaked dumplings on a tray, then store in a bag for quick meals later.
