Description

These Maple Brown Butter Tartlets are a cozy, bite-sized dessert perfect for fall and winter gatherings. With nutty browned butter, rich maple syrup, and a flaky tart crust, this maple tartlet recipe delivers comforting flavor in every bite. Ideal for holiday desserts, teatime treats, or elegant potluck ideas.

Ingredients

½ cup unsalted butter

¾ cup brown sugar

½ cup pure maple syrup

2 large eggs

¼ cup heavy cream

¼ teaspoon salt

12 tartlet shells or pie crust rounds

Instructions

1. Melt butter over medium heat until it foams and brown bits form; remove from heat and cool slightly.

2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, brown sugar, and maple syrup until smooth.

3. Slowly whisk in the cooled browned butter to the egg mixture.

4. Stir in heavy cream and salt until combined.

5. Prepare tartlet shells in muffin tin or tart pans; chill for 15 minutes.

6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

7. Fill each shell ¾ full with the maple mixture.

8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly jiggly.

9. Cool before removing from the pan.

10. Serve warm or chilled, optionally topped with whipped cream.

Notes

Make sure butter is browned, not burned, for the best flavor.

Let the filling cool slightly before combining to avoid cooking the eggs.

Use real maple syrup for the richest flavor.
