Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 packet taco seasoning

1/2 cup water

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1/2 cup diced tomatoes

1/2 cup chopped lettuce

1/4 cup diced onions

1/4 cup chopped cilantro

1 avocado, diced (optional)

6 medium flour tortillas

2 tbsp butter or oil (for pan-frying)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease, then add taco seasoning and water. Stir and let simmer for 5 minutes, then set aside.
  2. Assemble the Tacos: Lay tortillas flat and sprinkle half with cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese. Add seasoned beef, tomatoes, onions, and avocado if using. Top with more cheese and fold the tortilla in half.
  3. Pan-Fry the Tacos: Heat a skillet over medium heat with butter or oil. Cook the folded tacos for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Garnish & Serve: Remove from heat, let cool slightly, and top with lettuce, cilantro, or extra toppings. Serve with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole.
