Description

These homemade small batch sugar cookies are soft, buttery, and incredibly easy to make in just 30 minutes. Perfect for small cravings, these cookies are a no-chill, no-mixer treat ideal for spontaneous baking. A must-try for small-batch cookie lovers and anyone who enjoys quick homemade desserts.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 large egg yolk

1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

pinch salt

Instructions

1. In a small bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth and creamy.

2. Stir in the vanilla extract and egg yolk until fully combined and glossy.

3. Add flour, baking powder, and salt to the bowl. Mix until a soft dough forms.

4. Roll dough into 6–8 small balls and place on a lined baking sheet.

5. Slightly flatten each dough ball. For cut-out cookies, roll and shape as desired.

6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes until edges are just golden.

7. Let cookies cool on the tray before transferring to a rack.

Notes

Let cookies cool on the baking tray to avoid breaking.

Don’t overbake — they’ll continue to set as they cool.

Add sprinkles or icing after baking for extra fun.
