Ingredients
2 large russet potatoes
1 egg
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons butter or oil for frying
Instructions
1. Peel and grate the russet potatoes.
2. Use a clean towel or cheesecloth to squeeze out all moisture from the grated potatoes.
3. In a bowl, combine potatoes, egg, flour, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
4. Divide the mixture and shape into 6 patties about 1/2 inch thick.
5. Heat butter or oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
6. Cook patties in batches, 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
7. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
