Description
This Festive Eggnog Panna Cotta is a creamy, no-bake holiday dessert made with eggnog, heavy cream, gelatin, and cozy spices. An elegant Christmas treat perfect for make-ahead entertaining.
Ingredients
1 cup eggnog
1 cup heavy cream
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 packet (about 2 1/4 teaspoons) unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup cold water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon rum extract (optional)
Instructions
1. Sprinkle the gelatin over 1/4 cup cold water in a small bowl and let it bloom for 5–10 minutes.
2. In a saucepan, combine eggnog, heavy cream, and sugar. Heat gently over medium until warm but not boiling.
3. Remove from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved and smooth.
4. Add vanilla extract, nutmeg, and rum extract (if using). Stir well and taste to adjust seasoning.
5. Pour into ramekins or glasses. Chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours or until set.
6. Serve with whipped cream, extra nutmeg, and festive toppings like sugared cranberries or cinnamon sticks.
Notes
Let the gelatin fully bloom before using to ensure a smooth set.
Do not boil the mixture—just heat until warm to avoid curdling.
For the best flavor, use full-fat eggnog and cream.
