Ingredients
1 cup eggnog
1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Whipped cream, for topping
Crushed gingersnaps or cinnamon sugar, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over a few tablespoons of cold water in a small bowl and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
2. In a saucepan, heat the eggnog over medium heat until warm but not boiling. Stir in sugar and vanilla until dissolved.
3. Add the bloomed gelatin to the eggnog and whisk until fully dissolved. Let cool slightly.
4. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
5. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cooled eggnog mixture until fully combined.
6. Spoon the mousse into serving cups and chill for at least 3 hours, or until set.
7. Before serving, top with whipped cream and optional gingersnap crumbles or a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Notes
Use full-fat eggnog for the best texture.
