Description

Easy Sloppy Joe Biscuits are a quick weeknight dinner combining the nostalgic flavor of classic Sloppy Joes with flaky biscuit dough. This kid-friendly comfort food is perfect for meal prep, casual meals, or freezer-ready snacks. Learn how to make these savory biscuit pockets in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 small yellow onion, chopped

1 teaspoon garlic powder

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1/2 cup ketchup

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 can flaky biscuit dough (8 count)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

2 tablespoons butter, melted (optional)

Instructions

1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.

2. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.

3. Stir in garlic powder, tomato paste, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, and pepper.

4. Simmer the mixture for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, then remove from heat.

5. Preheat the oven to the temperature specified on the biscuit can.

6. Flatten each biscuit into a 4- to 5-inch round using your hands or rolling pin.

7. Add a spoonful of meat mixture in the center of each biscuit and top with shredded cheddar cheese.

8. Fold over the dough and pinch edges to seal.

9. Place sealed side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush with melted butter.

10. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.

11. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

These reheat perfectly in an air fryer for crisp texture.

You can swap ground beef for ground turkey or chicken.

Add diced jalapeños for a spicier version.
