Description

This cowboy butter steak recipe is the ultimate flavorful steak dinner! A juicy, pan-seared steak is topped with a rich, zesty cowboy butter made from garlic, lemon, herbs, and spices. Perfect for weeknights or grill nights, it’s bold, buttery, and easy to make.


Ingredients

1 ribeye or New York strip steak

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and black pepper to taste


Instructions

1. Mix the butter with garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, Dijon mustard, parsley, red pepper flakes, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until smooth.

2. Pat the steak dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.

3. Let the steak sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.

4. Heat a skillet or grill to high. Sear the steak for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare.

5. Remove from heat and let the steak rest for 5–10 minutes.

6. Top with cowboy butter while the steak is still warm.

7. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Let the butter sit at room temp to make mixing easier.

You can make the butter ahead and chill it for later.

Adjust red pepper flakes to control the heat level.
