Description

A hearty Deep Hamburger Sausage & Pepperoni Pie filled with bold layers of ground beef, Italian sausage, pepperoni, and gooey cheese baked inside a buttery crust. Perfect for a comforting dinner or special gathering. A meaty pie recipe loaded with flavor, easy to prepare, and freezer-friendly!


Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1/2 lb Italian sausage

1 cup pepperoni slices

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

2 tbsp tomato paste

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg, beaten

1 deep-dish pie crust

1 tbsp olive oil

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper


Instructions

1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant.

2. Add ground beef and sausage. Cook until browned, breaking up the meat. Drain any excess fat.

3. Stir in tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for a few minutes until well mixed.

4. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a deep-dish pie plate with the crust and brush it with beaten egg.

5. Spoon the meat mixture into the crust evenly. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.

6. Layer pepperoni slices over the cheese. Add top crust if using, seal the edges, and cut slits on top.

7. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbling. Cover edges with foil if needed.

8. Let cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

This pie can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.

Use a pie crust with structure—it needs to hold a lot of filling.

Letting the pie rest before slicing keeps it from falling apart.
