Ingredients
2 cups elbow macaroni
2 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
4 oz cream cheese, cubed
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Add uncooked macaroni, cheddar, mozzarella, and cream cheese to the dish. Mix gently.
3. In a bowl, whisk milk, cream, butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dry mustard.
4. Pour the mixture over the pasta and cheese.
5. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
6. Remove foil, stir gently, and bake uncovered for 10-15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
7. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use freshly shredded cheese for best melt and texture.
Adjust garlic and mustard to taste based on your spice preference.
Add crispy bacon or breadcrumbs on top for a crunchy finish.
