Description

Creamy Cajun Sausage Pasta Dinner is a bold, comforting one-pot meal made with smoky sausage, Cajun seasoning, and a rich, creamy sauce. This quick weeknight dinner is packed with flavor and perfect for pasta lovers craving a little spice.

Ingredients

8 oz penne pasta

14 oz smoked sausage, sliced

1 tbsp olive oil or butter

1 small onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 ½ tbsp Cajun seasoning

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Slice the smoked sausage into rounds.

2. Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat and brown the sausage on both sides. Remove and set aside.

3. In the same skillet, sauté chopped onion and minced garlic until softened and fragrant.

4. Deglaze the pan with chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits.

5. Add heavy cream, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir and simmer for a few minutes.

6. Cook pasta in a separate pot according to package instructions. Drain and reserve a little pasta water.

7. Add the cooked pasta and browned sausage to the skillet. Toss everything to coat evenly.

8. Stir in Parmesan cheese and let the mixture simmer until slightly thickened. Add pasta water if needed.

9. Serve hot with extra Parmesan and chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

This dish is easy to customize—add bell peppers, mushrooms, or spinach for more veggies.

For a spicier version, use andouille sausage or increase the Cajun seasoning.

Reheat leftovers with a splash of cream or milk to keep the sauce smooth and creamy.
