Description

Creamy Cajun Chicken Stuffed Shells bring bold Cajun spices and velvety cheese filling together in one unforgettable baked pasta dish. Perfect for weeknight comfort food or an easy dinner idea, these cheesy stuffed shells are loaded with creamy chicken and baked in a flavorful Cajun cream sauce.

Ingredients

20 jumbo pasta shells

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup milk

1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning, divided

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

1. Cook jumbo pasta shells according to package directions. Drain and rinse with cool water.

2. In a bowl, mix shredded chicken, cream cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella, 1/4 cup Parmesan, and 1/2 tablespoon Cajun seasoning until well combined.

3. Stuff each shell with the creamy chicken filling and place in a greased baking dish.

4. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in heavy cream, milk, remaining Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add remaining Parmesan and simmer until sauce thickens.

5. Pour half of the sauce over the stuffed shells. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese.

6. Cover dish with foil and bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for 10 more minutes until cheese is bubbly.

7. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving, if desired.

Notes

Use rotisserie chicken to save time.

Don’t overcook pasta shells—they should be firm enough to hold their shape.

Let the dish sit for 5 minutes after baking to firm up the filling before serving.
