Crack Green Beans are the ultimate veggie side with major flavor attitude. Tossed in a buttery garlic-brown sugar glaze and topped with crispy bacon, these green beans are anything but boring. They’re quick to make, wildly flavorful, and have just the right amount of crunch in every bite.
Ingredients
1 lb fresh green beans, ends trimmed
4 strips bacon, chopped
3 tablespoons butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: red pepper flakes for a spicy kick
Instructions
- Rinse and trim the green beans. Pat them dry.
- In a large skillet, cook chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet with bacon grease, add green beans. Sauté for 6–8 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Push beans to the side. Melt butter, add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Stir in brown sugar and soy sauce, mixing everything together.
- Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Add bacon back into the skillet. Toss everything to coat evenly.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
