Ingredients
12 fresh jalapeños
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
6 slices cooked bacon, chopped
2 green onions, finely sliced
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tsp hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
1. Slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise and remove seeds and membranes depending on desired spice level.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, chopped bacon, green onions, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and optional hot sauce. Mix well.
3. Spoon the filling into each jalapeño half, pressing gently to keep the mixture inside.
4. Arrange filled jalapeños on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
5. Bake in a preheated 400°F oven for 15–20 minutes, until cheese is bubbling and slightly golden.
6. Serve warm or let cool to room temperature before enjoying.
Notes
These can be made a few hours in advance and baked when ready to serve.
Use gloves while handling jalapeños to avoid skin irritation.
For extra smoky flavor, try grilling them instead of baking.
