Description

These Classic Cabbage Fritters are crispy, savory, and easy to make with simple pantry staples. Perfect as a vegetarian side dish, appetizer, or light meal. Serve with yogurt sauce or sweet chili for a flavorful twist.

Ingredients

2 cups shredded green cabbage

2 large eggs

1/3 cup all-purpose flour

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup diced onion

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)

2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

1. Shred the cabbage finely and place it in a bowl with salt. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then squeeze out the moisture.

2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and add flour, garlic, onion, pepper, and parsley.

3. Mix the cabbage into the batter until well combined.

4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

5. Scoop batter into the pan and press slightly to flatten.

6. Fry for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden and crisp.

7. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and serve warm.

Notes

Squeeze out the cabbage moisture thoroughly to avoid soggy fritters.

You can add grated carrots or cheese for extra flavor.

Reheat in a skillet or toaster oven to restore crispiness.
