Chocolate Dump Cake is a rich and gooey dessert made with chocolate cake mix, pudding, and butter. This easy dump cake recipe is perfect for a quick sweet treat and serves as the ultimate comfort food. Best served warm with ice cream, it’s a chocolate lover’s dream.

Ingredients

1 box chocolate cake mix

1 package instant chocolate pudding mix

2 cups milk

1 cup butter

1 cup chocolate chips

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 pinch salt

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. Whisk together the instant pudding mix and milk directly in the baking dish.

3. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the pudding layer—do not stir.

4. Slice butter into thin pats and place evenly across the cake mix layer.

5. Add chocolate chips and drizzle vanilla extract over the top.

6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, until the top is set and slightly crispy.

7. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

This cake is best served warm right after baking.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days in an airtight container.

You can add chopped nuts or swap in caramel chips for a twist.
