Description

This Cherries in the Snow dessert is a dreamy no-bake treat made with fluffy angel food cake, creamy layers of whipped cream and cream cheese, and vibrant cherry pie filling. Perfect for the holidays, potlucks, or a sweet weeknight indulgence, this vintage dessert is easy to make and absolutely delicious. Keywords: cherries in the snow dessert, no-bake cherry dessert, layered cherry trifle, easy holiday dessert, angel food cake dessert.

Ingredients

2 cups cubed angel food cake

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 1/2 cups heavy cream or whipped topping

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling

Instructions

1. Cut the angel food cake into bite-sized cubes and set aside.

2. In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy.

3. Gently fold in whipped topping or whipped cream and vanilla extract until combined and fluffy.

4. In a trifle dish or 9×13-inch pan, layer half of the cake cubes, followed by half of the cream mixture, then half of the cherry pie filling.

5. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients, finishing with the cherry topping.

6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps in the mixture.

You can substitute pound cake or sponge cake if you prefer a denser texture.

Fresh cherries can be used if you prefer to make your own topping.
