Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 cup long grain rice (uncooked)
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
2 cups beef broth
1 small onion, chopped
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess grease.
3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef, uncooked rice, chopped onion, cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
4. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
5. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese over the top.
6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
7. Remove foil, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top, and bake uncovered for another 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
8. Let the casserole rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use sharp cheddar for bold flavor.
You can substitute instant rice—just reduce liquid and baking time.
Add corn or spinach for extra texture and nutrients.
