Description

Ingredients
1 pie crust
3 large Vidalia onions
1 tablespoon butter
1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
3 large eggs
1 cup heavy cream
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and prick the bottom with a fork. Bake for 8 minutes, then remove and let cool slightly.
2. Thinly slice the Vidalia onions. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté the onions until soft and translucent, about 10 minutes.
3. Layer the cooked onions evenly in the pre-baked pie crust.
4. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the onions.
5. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper.
6. Pour the egg mixture over the onions and cheese, letting it settle evenly.
7. Bake the pie for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden.
8. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
