Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
16 pieces fudgy brownies, pre-baked and cooled
Instructions
1. Cream together the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
2. Add eggs and vanilla extract; mix until smooth and well combined.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture just until combined.
5. Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
6. Scoop a portion of dough, flatten it slightly in your palm, place a brownie piece in the center, and wrap the dough around to seal.
7. Chill the dough balls on a baking sheet for at least 30 minutes.
8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
9. Bake for 12–14 minutes until edges are golden and centers remain slightly soft.
10. Let cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Use fudgy brownies, not cakey, for the best texture inside.
Chilling the dough prevents overspreading and helps keep the center thick.
Don’t overbake—slightly underdone centers keep the brownie moist and chewy.
