Description

Best Crock Pot Cube Steak is a slow cooker classic made with tender cube steak, rich mushroom and onion gravy, and savory flavors that melt in your mouth. Perfect for an easy family dinner or meal prep, this cube steak crockpot recipe pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes or noodles. A true comfort food favorite!


Ingredients

4 cube steaks

1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)

1 packet onion soup mix

1 cup beef broth

1 medium yellow onion, sliced

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)


Instructions

1. Slice the onion into thin rounds and set aside. Season cube steaks with garlic powder and black pepper.

2. Layer the sliced onions at the bottom of the crock pot. Place the cube steaks over the onions.

3. In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, onion soup mix, and beef broth until smooth. Pour over steaks.

4. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, until the steak is fork-tender.

5. Optional: Mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water and stir into the crock pot during the last 30 minutes to thicken the gravy.

6. Serve hot over mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice.

Notes

Use thin, evenly flattened cube steaks for best results.

The gravy thickens naturally, but cornstarch adds extra body if desired.

Avoid adding salt as the soup mix and broth are already salty.
