Description

This Balsamic Strawberry Caprese salad is a refreshing twist on the classic Italian favorite. Juicy strawberries, fresh mozzarella, basil, and a rich balsamic glaze come together in this vibrant, no-cook summer dish. Perfect for brunch, appetizers, or a light lunch.

Ingredients

8 ounces fresh mozzarella

1 pint fresh strawberries

1 small bunch fresh basil leaves

2 tablespoons balsamic glaze

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

1. Wash and remove the stems from the strawberries, then slice them vertically.

2. Slice the fresh mozzarella into evenly thick rounds.

3. Gently rinse and dry the basil leaves.

4. Arrange strawberries, mozzarella, and basil alternately on a platter in a circular or linear pattern.

5. Drizzle olive oil and balsamic glaze generously over the top.

6. Sprinkle sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper.

7. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

Use burrata or goat cheese for a twist in texture and flavor.

Store unassembled components separately if preparing ahead.

For homemade balsamic glaze, simmer balsamic vinegar until reduced by half.
