Description

This Amish Meatloaf recipe is a hearty, old-fashioned dinner classic made with ground beef, breadcrumbs, and a tangy ketchup glaze. It’s the perfect easy comfort food for family meals, ideal for weeknights or Sunday dinners.

Ingredients

1.5 lb ground beef

1 cup breadcrumbs

3/4 cup milk

2 large eggs

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1/2 cup ketchup

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon mustard

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, salt, and pepper until just combined.

3. Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a greased loaf pan or baking dish.

4. In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard to make the glaze.

5. Spread the glaze over the top of the meatloaf.

6. Bake for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.

7. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

This meatloaf tastes even better the next day.

You can substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.

Don’t overmix the meat to keep it tender.
