Description

This 30-Minute Jalapeño Chicken recipe is the perfect spicy and creamy skillet dinner for busy weeknights. Made with tender chicken, fresh jalapeños, and a rich garlic-lime cream sauce, it’s a bold, low-carb dish packed with flavor. Great for meal prep or a quick family meal!


Ingredients

1 lb chicken breast or thighs

2 fresh jalapeños

2 cloves garlic

1 small onion

1/2 cup chicken broth

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 tbsp olive oil

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp lime juice

2 tbsp chopped cilantro (optional)


Instructions

1. Slice chicken into bite-sized pieces. Chop onion, mince garlic, and slice jalapeños.

2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.

3. In the same skillet, add onion and jalapeños. Cook for 2-3 minutes until softened, then add garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds.

4. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits. Stir in heavy cream and cook for 4 minutes until slightly thickened.

5. Add lime juice, then return chicken to the skillet. Stir to coat in the sauce and simmer 2 more minutes.

6. Garnish with cilantro if using and serve hot.

Notes

Use gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid skin irritation.

For less heat, remove seeds and membranes from the peppers.

Serve with rice, tortillas, or roasted veggies for a complete meal.
